Situation
The SMW partner CTER SP. based in Warsaw, Poland, was approached by a multinational Tier 1 automotive company. The company operates one of the largest plants in Poland and currently employs over 800 people. In the recent past, the company has undergone many major changes, including the rapid development of production, the implementation of automation and the implementation of the SAP HR module. As a result of these dynamic changes in the company, the HR team became demotivated and the HR manager left the company unexpectedly.
Action
Within just two days of being contacted, CTER was able to provide a shortlist of 3 immediately available HR Interim Managers with relevant experience in dealing with crisis situations, strong leadership and a good understanding of the automotive business. After a series of interviews, the selected interim started work within 7 working days of the initial contact with CTER.
Result
Once the Interim HR Manager was in place, no time was wasted in making improvements. The turnaround began with the stabilization of the team. The Interim Committee also worked closely with the unions to stabilize this relationship so that some changes could be made.
The implementation of the SAP HR module then became a priority and was carried out successfully. The HR team followed up the implementation with a review of remuneration and benefits for the company. After 12 months, a permanent HR manager was hired and brought on board.
