Alpha Consulting was founded in Frankfurt on July 1, 1979 with the idea of building up a consulting company for industry with independent, experienced managers. In the first few months, customers told us, “managers should also implement their ideas, they know how to do it”.
In fact, interim management is defined as the “temporary perception of management functions from the outset through clear target specifications” (“Interim Management Rent A Head” by Kirsten Frank, Verlag Heinrich Sadler 1995, 1st standard work on the subject).
The interim manager takes over a management job without hierarchical power. He analyses the situation found in the company and begins to implement the situation that was recognized as necessary in the first days of operation. The focus of his work is on implementation.
When asked why our customers should engage an interim management provider, the answer is: “Intermediaries provide the added value of risk minimization through their selection procedure”, (“The Interim Manager, a new career model for the experienced manager”, Financial Times, 1998, p. 123).
AC Alpha was a founding member of “InterimManagementWorldwide (IMW)”, an association of 23 interim management providers worldwide, 20 years ago. See the International page for more information.
The core business is digitalization consulting for companies (SMEs to corporations), facilities and institutions on issues relating to the digitalization of companies and processes.
In particular, the focus is on advising companies on the digitalization of companies and their processes as well as supporting the companies to be advised in cooperation with companies from the partner network in the hardware and software sector.
In a cooperation with the European Business School that has existed for 10 years now, AC Alpha maintains the professional exchange between teaching and science to the challenges of interim management in operational practice. Whether it is to capture and evaluate relevant scientific trends in a timely manner or to analyse new trends in the major economic areas and markets, the proactive merging of theory and practice constantly develops approaches that exemplary.
