The German premium manufacturers blow in 2019 to attack Tesla. Audi, Porsche and Mercedes bring premium electric vehicles onto the market, which match Tesla’ current models.
The Audi E-Tron with 400 hp and 400 kilometres range from € 80,000, – is a real electric vehicle. At first glance, it looks like a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. That’s because of the old conventional platform.
Currently, the VW Group is developing a platform for electric vehicles. But that comes later to use. With the conventional form one gets used to the customers slowly to the electro-mobility. In the long run, however, it is not possible without an electric platform. In the conventional platform you have to make too many compromises for the electric drive. In particular, the placement of the battery is a challenge.
2019 is a transition year in electromobility. All premium manufacturers invest large sums to convert to electric platform. For the end customer it is difficult to make a decision. Should he wait until 2020, when more electric vehicles are offered on a pure electric platform, or should he be one of the first to follow the new trend?
